Wood Chip Standard Approved by ANSI

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has approved the AD17225-4 Wood Chip Heating Fuel Quality Standard. The standard was developed by the Biomass Energy Resource Center, the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, Innovative Natural Resource Solutions LLC, and BTEC, with funding from the Forest Service. The Wood Chip Standard is the first quality standard for wood chip heating fuel in the U.S. The standard is a revised version of ISO 17225-4, an international standard for wood chips.

BTEC is currently working with its partners to draft and publish a Wood Chip Standard Guidebook for the general public. The guidebook is entering the final stages of development and will be published in April 2018.
