Greetings, There's a lot of exciting news to share
with you this month. In this issue you'll find an update on recent BTEC
activities, a magazine article featuring BTEC, and a look to the rest of
2009, including the announcement of the first annual Membership Meeting and Fall
Forum in mid-November. Government
affairs is one of BTEC's focal points. We are currently working with
Congressional offices on several bills that could mean hundreds of
millions of dollars for the industry, including production tax credits
for biomass fuel producers; investment tax credits for the installation
of biomass heating appliances in residential, commercial, and
industrial applications; renewable energy credits; and more.
Membership in BTEC directly supports these advocacy efforts and our other program activities.
Feel free to contact me any time to talk about how BTEC can help your
organization. We're beginning to develop our program plan for 2010, so
now is the time to share your thoughts with us on how we can best serve
the industry! Until next month,

Call for Papers: RETECH 2010 Renewable Energy Conference |
The RETECH 2010 planning committee is inviting industry
leaders from around the world to nominate interested speakers for the February
3-5, 2010 conference. The conference program will feature every aspect of
renewable energy technology, industry, market, finance, and policy.
Biomass thermal energy is often overlooked in renewable
energy conference programs. By nominating a speaker on this topic, you can help
assure that this industry is represented at RETECH 2010-an event that last year
had over 3,000 attendees.
To be considered, please submit all speaker
nominations by Wednesday, October
21, 2009.
